9 competitions, 2 book sales and 1 guest author- this year's reading week was extremely exciting for everyone.
All year groups were very enthusiastic about this week, taking the bumper book quiz, meeting Chris Priestley and participating in many different events provided by the English department. Many pupils managed to win prizes in the quotation competition, succeeding to figure out each 15 different quotes chosen by the teachers. Others won the poetry slam, creative writing and the imaginary book cover competitions. As the week came to an end, all year groups met the school's guest author, Chris Priestley, who gave a workshop about writing and editing and even one on political cartoons for the Lower Sixth. In the last day, everyone left for the weekend after seeing many teachers and students dressed up as their favorite book characters, a exciting idea for this year's Reading Week. All of these things led to a marvelous reading week!

Author- Chris PriestleyChris Priestley was the guest author of the 2018 reading week. He is the author of several children books including "Mister Creecher" (image to the right) which the Form 3s had a delightful time reading.

Living Book CompetitionForm 1 tutor groups decorated their doors and classrooms according to their favorite books

Imaginary Book Cover CompetitionStudents created the cover for an imaginary book.
