Once upon a time, there was a teenage girl washed up on the beach, painting on a canvas. But how did she get there? That’s the story today.
It was just a normal day in her home city for a girl named Melissa. Ever since young, the girl dreamed of fame. She didn’t care how she got it. From being an actress, to artist, to painter, to engineer.... Anything! Every opportunity she was given, she would take it.
One day, a thirty-ish looking man approached her at school saying he had been studying her and had a proposition. She wasn’t surprised, she had only the best of the best in life and there was no doubt she was noticed by many. But little did she know, the man knew more about her than just her social image. He offered her a job to work with celebrities! One he knew she simply couldn’t resist.
Overjoyed and confused, she accepted. She was extremely excited to start working with her co-celebrities. The man was sketchy though. He had given her a contract without any personal information about himself and convinced Melissa to sign a sketchy contract with an offer too good to refuse. She signed without reading, and was certaintly not prepared for what was yet to come.
When she arrived home, she showed the contract to her mother who began ranting about how serious it was and that Melissa shouldn’t make important decisions on her own. Melissa didn’t listen. But that was only until she read the contract:
Signing this contract grants Henry Horror full control of your life. You permanently become a slave and are obliged to do whatever he says. Once signed, there is no way to undo what has been done and if you stop, you will be taken to court. Of course, to make this more interesting, you can be whatever you want and can even have a personal wish granted, however, this exclusive addition has three rules:
No wishing for more wishes
No wishing for something impossible
No wishing for the contract not to apply
After reading the contract, she stood there puzzled and shocked. As much as it seemed like a dream come true, she never wanted to be anyone’s slave. She wanted to be a free young woman living a fantastic life as a famous celebrity. But with this contract, there was no doubt that she was never going to live that life.
The next day, she went to school, low-spirited. She had made the most shortsighted and naive decision of her life.
The man met with her again at her locker and said “first day. Huh? Already dreading it? Excellent.” He then ordered her to go home, pack her bags and go with him. She asked where they were going but he didn’t answer. Something clearly wasn’t right.
Melissa was forced to board an old plane which wasn’t in any condition for flying and, on her way, to wherever she was being taken to, fate had decided to intervene in the form of a heavy storm and turbulence. Melissa, confused and scared, put on a life vest. She saw unfamiliar passengers throwing themselves down an inflatable slide connected to the plane’s door and chose to do the same.
Little did she know that she would end up stranded on an island, with no clue of what to do, and unaware of her surroundings. After some time, she took out the only thing she had packed; a canvas and some watercolors. She started painting the waves of the ocean, the fish she had swam with, the sunset she had experienced... She lived on the island until she grew old and died...
And that is the tragic story, of the girl who got tricked.
