St. Paul's Memorable Conference

You might be wondering why we were recently rushed out of school in the last few days. The school has so many events that sometimes it can be quite difficult to keep up with all of them, especially in this centenary year. But we must admit that sometimes, these events get so common to us that we don’t really care or pay enough attention to them, just letting them pass by. But this recent conference was definitely one we should take note of.

St. Paul’s held its 7th biennial Education Conference, receiving renowned people from the UK and beyond. The conference aimed to share the latest and most effective educational practices in a world that changes oh so quickly and is increasingly shaped by unpredictable new technologies. The conference was made even more special by commemorating the 100 years of our school, with the theme of “Embracing New Horizons – Celebrating 100 Years of Innovation and Excellence”. 

The conference addressed the most current and constant issues faced in our society, such as women’s rights in the market, diversity in Brazil, mental health, and laws to protect teenagers, as well as many other talks to help teachers and other learners. The school received important guest speakers with years of experience, and that left a significant mark on those present. Not only that, but some of our teachers who easily give us the most talks were there and led workshops and activities for others to follow.

While we may treat these topics as boring or forgettable to us, we cannot deny the impact they have in shaping our future and improving our education by being open-minded and looking forward.
