For those of you who are unaware, TUCCA is a charity which aids children and young adults with cancer, and it is one of St. Paul’s chosen institutions to help. This means that through
opportunities, such as enrichments, pupils can volunteer and therefore become part of this unique social experience. This year’s TUCCA Leaders include Nina Chamlian, Ana Bilyk, Carol Cirano and Catherine Loeb. These girls work together and try their best, alongside the other student volunteers, to support the charity.
Even though enrichment is not happening at the moment because of the pandemic, the Leaders came together and created an initiative on their own, where the goal is to gather as many easter eggs as possible, so that unfortunate children can have the easter they deserve. This initiative has already raised more than 200 eggs and us Leaders are very proud of what we managed to achieve.
However, this is just the beginning, now, with our online platform (@ajudeatucca) we are able to reach a wider group of people, and therefore expand the donations. Many times, people do want to help, they just don’t know how, or that there are opportunities for them to aid these charities. This is why it is important to promote the project in all areas of communication, so we can find all the help we need.
On another note, the leaders have felt that, because in previews years TUCCA did not have an application process, most people there were not fully willing and keen to be part of our group. Therefore, on behalf of the Leadership team, we are announcing that as soon as the enrichment period returns, TUCCA will have a smaller and more selective number of people, thank you.
