In February 2022, Projeto Mãos na Massa began its construction for Diolice’s new home near Guarulhos. Diolice, who has been in a wheelchair since being diagnosed with Leukemia more than 20 years ago, was awarded with her own home due to the NGO’s efforts. The project learned about Diolice’s dire situation when a friend of hers contacted the project and explained Diolice’s current living situation. Over 3 months, 50 volunteers went to the construction site and made great progress in Diolice’s home. Projeto Mãos na Massa motto is “Realizando sonhos tijolo por tijolo”, translating to “Making dreams come true brick by brick”, which was exactly what was done for Diolice, receiving a quality home and decorating it to her liking.
Diolice’s home also accounted for with the assistance of Turma do Jiló, an association that fights for a more inclusive and diverse world, aiming to implement and guarantee Inclusive Education within schools and companies.

The funds which are used to purchase the materials used for construction come entirely from donations and events, any support towards the project is greatly appreciated. Follow @projeto_maosnamassa on Instagram and TikTok to keep up with constructions and any upcoming events.
