IB Geography Trip 2017

On Friday, the Upper 6th Geographer went to the coast of São Paulo to visit the beaches in order to complete our Geography IB Internal Assessment.

We stayed there from Friday morning until Sunday afternoon, and went to a total of ten beaches. We resided at a very nice Pousada in Boiçucanga. The staff were invested in making sure our stay was as nice as possible, and the food was of a very high quality. The hotel was right on the beach, so we woke up to the scenic view of the sun rising over the horizon.

During the day, we conducted our research, consisting of land use maps and questionnaires, on every single one of the beaches and, after spending around 45 minutes at each site, we moved on to the next. This seemed never ending at times and, by the end of the day, the entire group was exhausted.

After finishing our research, we had free time to spend on the beach and by the pool. This allowed us time to both relax after our long day of work and share information with each other. 

Overall, the trip was a nice mix of both hard work and relaxation and I am sure that everyone had as great a time as I did.
