We, lions, seek to give back to our community in any way we can and,  this year, volunteers have been divided into two groups, helping two different charities (Tucca and the British Society).
Tucca
Tucca is an organisation that works with kids and teenagers that have cancer. It helps not only with the diagnosis and expensive cancer treatment, but also with adapting the children to new environments. They research innovative medication to ensure that every child receives the best health care as possible and tries their best to ensure they feel comfortable.

British Society
The British Society is an organisation that encompasses different homes for the elderly. For instance, the “Casa Madre Teodora dos Idosos” as well as “Cora Residencial” welcomes and supports elders that have been abandoned or that don’t have a family to look after them.

Future steps
The members working with the British Society are planning to visit one of the homes mentioned previously. However, to be able to provide each charity with resources they need and have enough funds to make the trip happen, we need your help! As this is the very beginning of the project, we have not yet identified which specific resources are needed in the charities, but notices will be sent out as soon as possible. Events such as bake sales will also be hosted by the community service group to raise money for trips. We have each been provided with the opportunity to give back to the community and improve the lives of so many, so let’s take it. Together, we can take small steps towards making our society and the world a better place.
