Meet the Prefects: Arts Prefect

What does your role entail?

As Arts Prefect, I spread the Arts through school and make sure pupils understand the importance
of it in one’s life.

What was the most stressful part of the Prefect application process and why?

The interview was definitely the most stressful part of the whole application process since you
never know what questions to expect.

What is the most common misconception people have about the prefects?

That you have to have studied since PP1 in school to be a prefect.

Why did you want to be a prefect?

The main reason I applied to be a prefect was because I wanted to represent the school I always
grew up in. St.Pauls has taught me life values and I want to make sure as many pupils have the
same experience I had inside of St.Paul’s.

What would you say to your 12-year- old self?

Enjoy every second of your life right now and grab every opportunity school offers you.

How does your Prefect role link to your future career?

My prefect role links to my future career because I plan to be a fashion designer.

What was the hardest question they asked you in your interview?

They knew I had a very busy schedule and therefore asked me how I would conciliate all my work
with an extra responsibility.

What have the last few months as a Prefect taught you?

That persistency and perseverance are very important qualities to make a change.

What is one thing you want to change in school?

I want to change the way the arts is viewed in school.

Any advice for prospective prefects?

​Make sure you are as truthful as possible in your application. Teachers know you very well and
really want you to be honest in all parts of the application process.
