What does your role entail?
I have to serve as a role model to other pupils, encourage all members of the school to take part in activities and embody the school values, and work throughout the school to develop a successful community.
What was the most stressful part of the Prefect application process and why?
The interview was very nerve-racking especially because after everyone spoke and debated about what answers were the best, and this made me overthink about what I had said and hadn't said.
What is the most common misconception people have about the prefects?
That we are perfect students.
Why did you want to be a prefect?
I wanted to be able to share with others my experience of going to 8 different schools and use this to improve the school, I thought that I had good ideas that could contribute to improve the community as a whole.
What would you say to your 12-year-old self?
You will move countries 3 more times in your life so get ready for change. You are strong but it's okay to be weak at times - you don't need to keep your guard up all the time.
How does your Prefect role link to your future career?
I'm still undecided on which carrier path I want to take, but I know no matter what it is I will be in a leadership position.
What was the hardest question they asked you in your interview?
I don't remember the question specifically but I know it was along the lines of... "What are the 3 most important things that have to be improved about the education system."
What have the last few months as a Prefect taught you?
I have been taught not to just think about myself, and as a prefect group we have learnt how to work as a team more effectively.
What is one thing you want to change in school?
As a prefect team we want to increase school spirit, and currently we are working on making the Tuk shop lines shorter and more effective.
Any advice for prospective prefects?
Be yourself and don't try to please others to get a position, you will be wanted for your qualities so use those to your advantage.
