Interview by A.C. Leonetti with A. Jafet and A. Nebreda
Could you please give a Brief Description of the Trip?

The U6 class was studying “operation management” so we went to Track & field’s Centro de Distribution. There we had a presentation from head of departments, who were in charge for each field.

What do you think was the most enriching part of this experience?

It was an excellent opportunity for us to see a real-life application. It was also great to see what we were studying in class, it was great for us to put our knowledge into practice. It has now become easier for us to picture what we are studying and be more creative in our essays.

Did you learn anything else about Track & Field?

They talked to us about their new strategy which is to produce as little waste as possible within the next years. They are currently planning to do this for the next 40 years. This was very interesting as it specifically targeted our generation. We also learnt how long it took to actually get a line out, since the initial design to the final production.

Did you learn any new Business Management concepts?

Yes, they took us through the whole production process from start to finish. They also taught us about a different production method where they re-use the scraps for materials

Any final lessons?

Overall, we have learned to value more the clothes that we wear and that there are several people involved in production even if they work in other areas.
