By T. Chan This summer, the World Challenge Team will go on an expedition to Zambia and Botswana. The team consists of Form 4 students who want to be a part of a group that helps bring together local and global communities to make positive change. As a team we wanted to take part in World challenge so that we have the opportunity to learn that wherever you are in the world there is more that we share in than separates us.
With the world challenge staff, Miss Sanger and Miss Hunter; we will travel to Africa and we will be immersed in a culture and way of life that is very different to our own. The 2 week expedition will take part in June and we will have the chance to hike, learn to cook, sightsee and most importantly we will contribute to a meaningful community project. During the community project we will be taught and assisted by a local handyman to help build new housing in the Mwandi area for struggling families. In preparation for the expedition, we are raising money through different fundraising events which will take part in the upcoming months. The money raised will finance the expedition and community project. We will have a stand during the School Festival on May 4th and we hope if you attend you will pass by to learn more and support us on this journey. If you want to donate or have any contribution you can contact Taiki Chan ([email protected]).
