Dreams….

A sequence of emotions, images, and sensations experienced by a person while sleeping.

Dreams usually take place at night. We are safe in our bed, with the lights turned off and our imagination can run wild. We can dream of our future, of our past, of our hopes and desires.

However, we can also dream during the day while consciously bringing forward goals and objectives we have set our hearts on. The real world is not like our imaginary world and in order to reach our targets, we must have determination and resolve to fight for our beliefs and strive to achieve our objectives. Even though our imagination is more comfortable than running after our aspirations, it is important to leave your comfort zone and chase your dreams in practice.

In the sports world, several prominent athletes, football players, basketball players and other sports stars have shown us all quite clearly what it means to chase our dreams.

Children here in Brazil who have grown up in appalling social circumstances, in Favelas for example, have managed to chase their dreams by investing heavily in training for their favorite sport, longing to reach their objectives. Occasionally, their circumstances mean they are unable to own proper football boots or tennis shoes. Consequently, they play in bare feet and return home at the end of a practice session with blistered and cut feet. But despite these adverse conditions, they still fight for their dreams.

For us, who are more privileged, we often cannot understand how such a person is able to reach their goal. We see their effort and even admire them, but do we really understand how someone who has almost nothing is able to reach their goals and targets? One who does not live it, is unable to fully grasp someone else’s habitual life.

Let’s solely think about how lucky we are and how sometimes our own efforts are far less to achieve the goals that others suffer so much to reach. Dreams are reachable, dreams are real and nights through dreams tell the myths forgotten by the day.
