By L. FarhatLast year, the school introduced the first girls’ futsal team. During the whole of 2018, we practised tirelessly in order to get better and participate in the Copa Diggio – a tournament against girls who had played since they were little. Unfortunately, we were unable to go to the finals in this championship, but it provided us with the opportunity to develop our skills allowing us to have a better understanding of the game. The tournament was essential for the team to become more united since it consists of girls all the way from Form 1 to Lower 6. Everything from the long bus rides to our McDonald’s pit-stops, to the actual games allowed us to build our friendship and created incredible memories.
This year we have joined the SPHSL futsal tournament against Chapel, Graded, EAC and PACA. Thankfully, the Copa Diggio gave us the experience we needed in order to take on this challenge. The girls have achieved amazing results in their first 3 games with an incredible win of 7x1 against EAC, 1x1 against PACA and 8x8 against Chapel. These scores put the St. Paul’s Lions first in the championship! Hopefully, we will be able to continue being successful and secure the semi-final in April. Come support our Lions!
