Basketball is a really amazing sport played by a lot of people around the world. Not only is it fun but also it will create great sportsmanship in between you and your teammates. You will get stronger and will benefit in various different ways. For example: gain strength, agility, quicker reflexes, balance, coordination and many others.

St Paul’s is looking for more girls and boys to participate in basketball lessons after school. You are not obliged to do this but I strongly believe that you will enjoy it and it will also be good for your health. The basketball team is looking for pupils who are eager to participate and give their best during lessons.

These lessons happen for Prep girls from 15:15 to 16:10 on Mondays and Wednesdays. For the Prep boys it is at the same time but on Tuesdays and Thursdays. However, for Form 1s and 2s this activity will take place at 16:10 to 17:30 for girls on Mondays and Wednesdays and for boys on Tuesdays and Thursdays. To access more information please talk to Priscilla Fogaça or Rodrigo from the P.E/ Basketball department.

If you choose to participate in this wonderful sport you will have lessons that consist of: warming up, conditioning, lay ups, free shots, games and lots of other fun activities. When you take lessons you will be emailed whenever there are games against other schools. If you are always working hard you will for sure be asked to take part in the varsity or junior varsity team, depending on your age. In addition, St Paul’s school takes a few children to ranchos which, take place in NR 2. There, you will play basketball against other schools and compete to reach the finale and win. Also, the NBA championship is another competition that St Paul’s takes part in and that has been wining for many years now.

In conclusion, I would strongly advise you to take part in basketball because you will adore it. Remember that this will be great and healthy for you. If you are interested please talk to the P.E department and they will arrange lessons for you.
