SPHSL Volleyball Until Now...

​The SPHSL is one of the most memorable and prestigious sports events for high school volleyball; it takes place only once a year and involves 5 different international school teams (the St.Paul’s Lions, the Graded Eagles, EAC Giants, PACA Warriors and Chapel Trojans). We have the opportunity to play against every team twice, and each match consists of 5 sets, in which every team competes fiercely. After all 10 matches, the victorious team will move on straight to the finals and the two runner-up teams will fight for their place in the final game.

We, the mighty lions, are currently in the middle of the season; we already played against all other teams at least once. Our first match was against EAC, one of our strongest and most feared rivals. It was an extremely competitive game as both teams won 2 sets each and needed the last set to achieve victory. Fortunately, we were able to unite as a team, play with attitude and win the match! Later, we had the chance to play against PACA and Chapel, both games in which we also won due to our lion spirit. However, we took our first fall fighting against the Graded Eagles – we stood firm and tall, but we were unlucky, and this time we were not able to take the victory. Hence, we have won all of the games except for the match against Graded, which we lost 3-1.

Now, we have to focus on securing our place in the very wished finals. We will compete against all other teams again, and have a chance to increase our number of victories, and play once again against the Eagles, which we will fight with even more determination and the unquenchable thirst for victory.
