By J. SantodomingoPyeongchang, located in South Korea, was the host city of the 2018 Winter Olympics. The city is surrounded by mountains with a mean height of 750m. Its population is around 44 thousand. The city is also home to some religions Buddhist temples, such as Woljeongsa.
Norway is the 2018 Olympic winner of medals per country (39), followed by Germany (31) and Canada (29). The countries with most Gold medals were Norway and Germany followed again, by Canada. The White Tiger “Soohorang” was the animal mascot for the Olympics. The committee chose this animal it is considered a guardian of their territory. “Bandai” was the mascot for the Paralympics. This bear was chosen as it resembles will and strength. It is also the symbol for the province of Gangwon, the region where Pyeongchang is located.
