By A. Ribeiro do Prado Although humans express their love through gifts, like chocolate, jewelry, and clothes, animals express themselves in a different manner. Read on to find out about affection with different animals.
Different dogs show their affection in different ways such as cuddling, tail wagging, following, eye contact, licking and others. Cuddling is when a love hormone called oxytocin is released in the dog’s brain. Tail wagging is how your dog shows you how they are feeling: when your dog is happy, they will wag their tail from a side to another. A good example of playing is when your dog grabs a toy and starts running around, hoping that you will run after them. This is them playing with you, they are showing how they can outrun you in a playful and loving way. Rolling over is a way of your dog telling you that he trusts you and that he wants a belly rub. Eye contact is a way of your dog asking for your attention. Cats usually express their love by licking, cuddling themselves, and warming up each other, protecting one another from the cold and relaxing each other. Birds rub their beaks together to show an act of love, expressing how they like being with each other and they also express themselves by feeding one another. Sea otters are in the water for most of their lives. They sleep in the water cuddled together to prevent them from floating away from one another. Elephants are very emotional, sensitive, and loving giants, and they use their trunk to show their affection to one another. They can even recognize their partners after decades apart.
