Conquering an astonishing 5 titles for the NBA, Bryant first exhibited unmatched talent as a basketball player during his high school years at Lower Merion, Pennsylvania. Bryant famously decided to skip college and was drafted 13th in the 1996 NBA Draft by the Charlotte Hornets; being only 18-year-old! Fortunately, he never played for the Charlotte Hornets and he was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers, where he would spend the entire of his 20-year career. Bryant instantly became a standout player, wearing his memorable number 8 and playing as one of the stars on the Lakers team, gaining three consecutive titles from 2000-02 alongside his friend Shaquille O’Neal.
Shocking fans worldwide, Bryant passed away in a disastrous helicopter crash in Calabasas, California, alongside his 13-year-old daughter Gianna and seven others as they were on their way to a basketball event, just a day after surpassing LeBron James at the NBA's highest scoring list. Kobe Bryant did not only have a positive impact on basketball fans, but the world. His work ethic and ambitious mentality inspires millions of young fans; he has for sure left a tremendous legacy.
