What is known as technology nowadays was much more of a general concept in places such as Ancient Egypt, where technology was described as simple machines. Ancient Egypt was the birthplace of a variety of things that are used in modern times, including the ramp and the lever. Most inventions that were thought of in Egypt were made as a way to better their lives.

The Egyptians invented and used simple machines such as the ramp and the lever for constructions. The handheld mirror that is so commonly used nowadays was created by the ancient Egyptians. They were often decorated with inscriptions and figures, wall mirrors were also decorated. The ancient Egyptians cared very much and were very self-aware with their personal hygiene and appearance. Toothbrushes and Toothpaste was invented because the grit and sand that would enter their vegetables and meals. Toothpaste was made of rock salt, mint, dried iris petals and pepper. Dental problems were extremely common in ancient Egypt and few had all white smiles. Dentistry was able to fix these problems but other types of medical jobs advanced much more than dentistry. For example: queen Hatshepsut died from tooth extraction. Most decoration on furniture was either invented or advanced in ancient Egypt for example: different colors of ink or small area rugs which are found in homes all over the world.

The amazing temples of ancient Egypt came from the same technological skill as modern household structures. The Egyptians are well known as a very conservative society, and their devotion to accomplishing tasks can be seen in their constructions of the pyramids and other monuments. The Bronze age was started when the Egyptians discovered that if tin and copper was mixed than bronze would be formed. Bronze was harder and more durable than other metals of that time. The Egyptians were among the first group of people to write and to keep records of historical occurrences, Hieroglyphs was one of the first forms of writing in Egypt.

In conclusion we couldn’t be where we are now if it weren’t for the Egyptians, their inventions were incredible and not only helped the Egyptians to maintain a good lifestyle, but helped them keep their appearances the way they wanted them to be.
