2018 NYFW trends
By: Z. Jamal
New York Fashion Week (NYFW) happened in the start of September, and it is considered one of the biggest fashion events of the year. Full of creativity, inspiration and edge, NYFW is the meeting point of bloggers, journalists, buyers, models and brands! It is the peak of well-made high fashion!
This event is also known for creating lots of trends, and here are the ones I liked the most:
1. ANIMAL PRINT
Animal print was a popular trend several years ago, but now, with the creation of Fashion Weeks (NY, Paris, London, Milan) it came back like never before, and has been roaring through the runways and streets ever since. In fact, this hot trend is considered one of the most popular ones as of now! Here are some of my favourite street style looks:
This look mixes daring leopard print with a cream-coloured turtle-neck sweater. The long length of the trench coat adds an extra chiqueness to the look, and the block style sunglasses makes everything posher.
This look is very modern! This year, due to the chilly New York weather, a lot of NYFW looks involved jackets and coats. This outfit combines classic camel-coloured cashmere with a modern, yellow python jacket! If you want to recreate this look, just get a classic piece from your wardrobe and combine it with a fun, different animal print piece!
NYFW 2018 showed us that neon is the new black. Neon was seen in the outfits of top bloggers and fashionistas; here are the ones I liked the most:
This neon orange jacket pops out on the streets, making the whole outfit more vivid. You can be using an entirely black look; add a brightly-coloured piece, and voilà: your look is now cool and trendy.
This is my absolute favourite neon look! The skin-tight, bright-green latex dress can be considered a state-of-the-art piece! Paired with the famously cool Prada flame heels, this look has the perfect neon vibe.
These are my two favorite NYFW trends! For an extra cool look, you can use these trends and adapt them to your own day-to-day life! Hope you liked it!
