By: G. CastillaBoredom is a frequent state of mind felt by most people during these difficult times, where to protect yourself and others- quarantine is fundamental. One of the best “cures” and time passing activities to endure this Covid-19 crisis is…. TV shows! What else is better to forget your own problems and dramas than watching somebody else’s or to have a good light-hearted laugh. The top 8 TV shows, most of which are oldies but goldies follow below: 1. Friends If you haven’t watched this one yet, it is a must- drop everything you are doing and go enjoy some good, original comedy. Friends, as most will know, follows the hilarious and relatable adventures of Monica, Ross, Joey, Chandler, Phoebe and Rachel, where you’ll get to experience all their professional drama, romantic problems, marriages and divorces whilst living in New York City. By the end of the 9th season, you’ll be crying and laughing with the characters, and will be fully in love with this show. 2. How I Met Your Mother Some say that How I met your mother is Friend’s spiritual descendant-similarly, it also follows a close-knit friend group during their adventures in New York City. How I met your mother is the story of how the main character, Ted, met his future wife and all the adventures he and his friends went through that led them there. During the TV show, you’ll meet goofy yet reliable Marshall, womanizer Barney, loyal Lily and sarcastic Canadian Robin. One of the most lovable components of the show apart from the characters is the recurring jokes such as the slap bet or Ranjeet, the taxi driver's appearance. This is a must for anyone who wants a good laugh with a fresh new air. 3. Fresh prince of Bel-air When Will moves in with his wealthy aunt and uncle in Bel-air, he gives their lives an extra, wild twist. With his colorful clothes and his different mannerism which often clashes with his family’s high-class world, the show has plenty of humor and will leave you with a smile. 4. That 70's Show What is better than a show about the 70s? A show about the 70s filmed in the 90s! It surrounds the lives of 6 teenagers as they come of age, following their romantic, friendship and family circles. This one will give anyone a good laugh and the main theme song will be stuck in your head for hours and hours. 5. Full House One of the original comedy sitcoms, filled with family and laughter. Recently widowed father of three Danny Tanner enlists his brother-in-law and best friends to help raise his girls. Full of fun catch phrases from “You got it, dude” to “How rude”, mischief from Stephanie, teenage drama from DJ and adorable cuteness from Michelle this show has it all. This is a must watch for everyone who wants to see some family fun. It gathered such a cult following that a sequel series followed- Fuller House- now centered on DJ and her three sons. 6. The Big Bang Theory This sitcom gives the friends hang out and have adventures together both professionally and personally- an extra twist. By the fact that the group of friends is mainly composed of geeky nerds who love science and are not the best at social interactions. Sheldon, Raj, Howard and Leonard meet Penny, an aspiring actress/waitress which changes their life direction 7. Gilmore Girls The hilarious yet relatable TV show follows Lorelai Gilmore and her daughter Rory- whom she had when she was only 16. The show mixes together romance, difficult family bonds, friendship and dreams wonderfully. One of the largest debates in recent pop culture surround which one of Rory’s boyfriend’s is the best one. Furthermore, at least once throughout the show you will want to be as cool as Lorelai Gilmore who seems to have it all together. This is a great show to watch with your friends! 8. Two and a Half Men
