By: C. Doria As we all know, nowadays fashion has become a worldwide tendency, a topic to which we devote every second of our precious time, getting increasingly ‘into’ what is in style during that particular season. Considering all the trends the fashion industry is seeing at the moment, ‘street style’ wear is by far the one emerging at the fastest rate. Including anything from baggy hoodies, oversized tee’s, and high-heeled boots, to tracksuits, skater’s sneakers and vinyl overalls, street style is definitely a wide-ranged wing of fashion! Each year, designers drop several collections and collaborations that grab everybody’s attention. These new, so-called “drops” are dragging thousands of people, including foreigners, to queues, with the intention of getting their styles and trends on point. This is nothing more than an intelligent method used by designers to rapidly sell their exclusive, high-fashion street style clothes to thirsty consumers. After recent events, such as the New York Fashion Week, street style photographers captured a wide range of new trends to try: 1. Old is New Masculine vintage tees, together with retro high wristed trousers and jeans, are now being used to embellish urban styles. Belt bags (the infamous ‘pochetes’) came to substitute classy handbags, and old sneakers are now considered ‘cool’. Brands such as Prada and Balenciaga, brought out vintage eyewear again, incorporating cat eye structures and see-through coloured lenses into their recent collections. 2. Skater Style The hype style, along with a dash of skater, has recently become the top trend to all fashion influencers and enthusiasts. Brands such as Vans and Supreme are basing their designs on this major trend. 3. The Baggy Trend This upcoming oversized/baggy trend has become a fever for ‘hype’ devotees, as the style effortlessly creates trendy and modern outfits. Brands such as Off-White are immensely focused on this oversized tendency.
