Don’t Worry Darling

​Don’t Worry Darling is seemingly about a 1950s American couple living in a utopian community. Later in the film, the housewife starts to question the secrets that her husband’s company may be hiding and begins to crack the mystery, revealing a disturbing truth underneath. 
The movie, directed by Olivia Wilde, stars Harry Styles and Florence Pugh. However, Olivia Wilde also played a significant role as a fellow housewife who stays committed to the secrecy in the experimental utopian community. “Don’t Worry Darling” finished filming in February 2021 and will be released to the public in the theaters on September 23rd, 2022. Although, the film has already made headlines during the filming process.
As ‘Don’t Worry Darling” carried on filming, the actor Chris Pine glanced at the “good art” that came from working on this movie. “The aesthetic of the movie is beautiful. The story is compelling and fun and so dark and twisted,” the movie star told Entertainment Tonight in December 2020. “Shooting was wonderful. Olivia is very clear about what she wants.”
Director Wilde mentioned the difficulties of making the film during the pandemic. A crew member tested positive for COVID-19, proceeding in production being halted for two weeks, this also resulted in stars Styles, Pine, and Pugh being quarantined. 
Olivia Wilde’s inspiration while developing this film is essential for the understanding this piece. In April 2022, she explained to the audience, “I want you to imagine a life where you have everything you could want. Not just material, tangible things like a beautiful house, perfect weather, and gorgeous cars. But also, the things that matter, like true love or the perfect partner or real trusted friendships and a purpose that feels meaningful”.
