Exploring England: London 2019

London is a city of many wonders which may enchant anyone who chooses to visit. Its (mostly) rainy and cloudy weather may catch you by surprise, but you won’t regret visiting the Queen’s home. Here is my guide on how to explore London.

Electric Cinema
I’ll start by talking about the Electric Cinema, which is one of the oldest working cinemas in Britain. It’s in the classic neighborhood of Notting Hill, specifically in Portobello road. This cinema accommodates you with fuzzy red chairs and a big screen, where modern (or old) movies are at your display. Next to it, there is the Electric Diner, which provides you with the perfect setting to enjoy good food and amazing drinks. It serves French-American food, and if you’re especially hungry, you won’t regret ordering their double cheeseburger.

Shakespeare’s Globe
Located on the bank of River Thames, Shakespeare’s Globe theatre is a world- renowned performing arts venue. It’s also a famous cultural attraction and education center, which celebrates Shakespeare’s impact on the world and especially in the UK. You are able to tour the theatre or even watch a play such as “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”. Housed under the rebuilt Globe Theater at London's Bankside, the exhibition explores the remarkable history of the Globe and brings Shakespeare's world to life using a variety of interactive displays and live demonstrations. After the tour, you’re also welcome to upgrade your visit and get the chance to enjoy a delicious " A Midsummer Night's Dream" - themed afternoon tea at the theatre’s restaurant.

The River Café
Focused in Italian cuisine, this top-rated Michelin star restaurant is a London classic. Some of its signature dishes include the “wild mushroom risotto” and the chocolate “Nemesis” cake. The restaurant is located on the north bank of River Thames, constructed in a former oil facility. The facility was architecturally modified to fit the restaurant’s standards by architect Lord Rogers – who is noted for his modernist and functionalist designs. The restaurant officially opened its doors in 1987, making it a classic since then.

Royal bike excursion
Take a bike tour through London's Royal Parks and get a chance to experience London’s jaw-dropping royal architecture and vivid nature. This half-day bike tour is an amusing and educational way to get around the city. You get to be active and also discover the charming Royal Parks inside Kensington Gardens, as well as Hyde Park, Green Park, and St. James's Park.    Enjoy a bike ride and get the opportunity to view famous sights such as the Houses of Parliament, the Big Ben, Trafalgar Square, Westminster Abbey, the Buckingham Palace, Kensington Palace and the Princess Diana Memorial.

Astronomy-based photography exhibition
This sensational photography om more than 4.600 entries captured by astrophotographers from all over the world. This gives you a chance to take a glimpse into the Milky Way and other areas of outer space, such as planets, nebulas, and much more. It is open until the 26th of April 2020, and it takes place at the National Maritime Museum, which is in the neighborhood of Greenwich.

These are my top 5 tips for London in 2019, hope you enjoy!
