By: S. Venturelli and L. Sitchin Miami is undoubtedly one of the most popular holiday destination in the world. The international city is located at Florida’s southeastern tip and is famous for its cultural diversity and special atmosphere, offering the perfect combination of the Caribbean’s warm weather and white sand beaches, Milan’s fashion and charm, and New York City’s high-end restaurants and vivid nightlife. Miami is a place for everyone, accommodating all types of taste and preference, which is the reason why visitors from all around the world want to explore the city’s uniqueness.
Miami’s Equatorial climate enables tourists to enjoy the city’s beautiful white sand and turquoise water beaches all year long. Spending a day at the beach is a definite must-do when visiting Miami! You will be amazed not only by the beautiful views but also with all of the activity options: you may want to carelessly tan under the powerful sun, take a walk along the shoreline, swim in warm and calm waters and even practice water adventures such as kite-surfing and parasailing. For those who enjoy Fashion and Arts, Miami’s Design District is perhaps the newest and trendiest spot in the city. You will find yourself surrounded by sleek modern architecture, enormous upscale fashion stores (such as Hermès, Fendi, Gucci, etc), unique art galleries, luxury jewelry boutiques and celebrity-chef restaurants (Mandolin Aegean Bistro and Mc Kitchen are my favorites). A definite must go in Miami is Lincoln Road Mall. Situated in South Beach, just a few blocks away from the shore, it offers a myriad of things to do. The street-mall is one of the most popular and visited spots on the entirety of the city, offering a variety of popular fashion stores featuring brands such as Zara, H&M and All Saints; diverse dining experiences ranging from fast food options, such as widely popular ‘shake shack’ hamburgers, all the way to world leading Italian and Mediterranean restaurants; and hugely enjoyable entertainment options, such as the Regal South Beach cinema. Lincoln Road is definitely one of my favorite spots in Miami; it cannot be missed! The Wynwood Art District is another unmissable spot as its Downtown location offers tourists a change of environment, and hence a completely unique experience! The region, which was once abandoned and decadent, has undergone a complete cultural transformation and is now one of the most visited places in the city. It is home to a myriad of street-art, colorful spray-painted walls and art galleries, drawing in millions of tourists annually. When visiting the neighborhood, don’t forget to stop by some of the diversified fashion boutiques and try out at least one of the amazing restaurants found on the area (my personal favorite would definitely be KYU).
