Iconic outfits from the Grammy's - through the years

BEST DRESSED
Rihanna - 2013

The singer used a dazzling, bright red Azzedine Alaïa gown, perfectly matching her dress, lipstick and nail colour. The minimalistic approach to jewelry (she only wears one silver bracelet), allows the red fabric to stand out and speak for itself. Her Ombre hair goes with the whole 'simple yet elegant’ vibe she was going for, while still being bold and making a statement.

MOST SHOCKING
Sasha Gradiva - 2012

The singer wore a delicate pink dress with an odd, terminator-like accessory to the 2013 Grammys. She later released on her website that she always aims to stand out from the crowd; which worked tremendously well.

WORST DRESSED
Rihanna - 2015

Though we can't really see the singers vision for this look, it was definitively experimental; a huge contrast from her 2013 gown. From the unique choice of colour to the odd shape, we were all left quite confused. However, Rihanna is known for pushing the boundaries with fashion, perhaps explaining this outfit.

MOST ICONIC
Beyoncé - 2017

Beyoncé showed up – pregnant – in this gorgeous gown by Peter Dundas, shining from head to toe. She paired the long-sleeved, red, sequin dress with a gorgeous diamond necklace. It wasn't only the gown everyone was staring at; it was also a certain pair of twins.

MOST CONTROVERSIAL
Niki Minaj - 2012

The rapper wore a Versace cloak and gown, embellished with black beads resembling a face, which in itself wouldn't be (too) strange. In fact, it wasn't necessarily her look that got us doing a double take, but instead her date's ensemble. She came accompanied by a pope look-alike, dressed in the traditional fully white cloak and, of course, the papal head piece. Nobody really knew how to feel about it, but it's quite a questionable choice if you ask us.

MOST THOUGHT PROVOKING
Lady gaga - 2016

Gaga made everyone contemplate when she showed up to the Grammy’s in an eye-catching Gucci pantsuit in 2016. She wore this as a tribute to David bowie, who had just passed away on January 10th. She paired her already 'informative' gown with incredibly tall, red platforms and a vibrant orange hair-do. It's safe to say this ensemble left us all in awe (how did she not fall in those shoes?!).
