Every month or two, new and exciting trends are born and guided to our social media feeds - some about fashion and décor while others about better diets and health choices. However, there are just some trends that simply hang onto the spot light for longer. Minimalist fashion was always quite popular with audiences around the world but has recently grown in fame and widened its ways of interpretation by different artists and brands.

Stores like Forever 21 that have more than one specific style available for clients to purchase have released collections that bear minimalist fashion pieces due to their increasing popularity and demand by clients.

& Other Stories is a brand that recently surfaced to many people’s attention because of its clean, simple styled pieces and their range in products. They sell skincare, beauty, clothing, and accessories, all of which are of great quality, beautifully packaged and look stunning on. The first image above is a great example of a minimalist outfit for all the pieces are the same color and tone, none of them standing out from each other, giving the model a very clean-cut silhouette, same for the other two looks. They all have an elegant look to them; they really embrace the models' body and general features.

Fortunately, this trend grew to not only fashion, but home décor as well. In all the rooms designed above, besides some small décor items, there is very little color, highlighting the greens placed and wooden furniture installed in the rooms. They mainly focus on using various tones of greys and beiges for it gives a neater and homier feeling to the space. Plants and wooden objects are common in designed rooms like these because they unflatten and don’t fade away onto the white walls. Some patterns may be also present, tending to be black and white, or if they bear color, are very simple prints (ex. strips, dots etc.).
Overall, this is a very well put together style that, if looking at the pieces individually, can seem casual or maybe even plain, yet when assembled, can look elegant and fashionable. The reason for its appeal is due to its effortless appearance that looks great on anyone, combining simplicity, comfort and style all in one.
