What you will need for the flan:
- 1 can of condensed milk
- 4 eggs
- 4 teaspoons of flour
- 2 tablespoons of sugar
- 800ml of milk
What you will need for the caramel sauce:
- 100g of sugar
- 50ml of water
Caramel Sauce how-to:
Select the pudding tray you will use for this recipe, and mix 100g of sugar with 50ml of water in a bowl and let it sit for 5 minutes.
After 5 minutes, pour the sugar and water mixture into your chosen pudding tray and leave that aside. Be sure you have the ingredients for the pudding ready!
Firstly, you will pour the whole can of condensed milk, add the the 4 eggs, add the 4 tablespoons of flour, the 800ml of milk, and the 2 tablespoons of sugar into a blender or a bowl.
If you chose to use a blender, to mix your ingredients: start with a low blending speed and gradually increase it. If you chose to mix in a bowl, you will use your hands, so the speed does not matter.
After you have mixed everything together, pour it into the pudding tray that you caramelised earlier.
Prepare a big pan with water in it and leave it in a low fire, put the bowl with the mixture in the water and let it set for one hour (This technique is called Banho-Maria in portuguese).
Remove the bowl from the fire and let it cool for 40 minutes. Later, unmold the cake when it is cool, and it is better if served cold.
