By M. Van Der Graaff Harrods is known as a luxury department store, located in London. It was founded in 1849 by Charles Henry Harrod. The department has multiple and unique brands to explore, however, my family and I went there for another reason. One thing that many people might not know is that there is an afternoon tea location, more commonly known as “The Harrods Tea Rooms”. This experience is definitely one of London’s finest.
Adjusting with the seasons, afternoon tea at Harrods guarantees a splendid selection of extremely tasty sweets, exquisite biscuits, golden-baked scones, and delicious sandwiches. The memory of eating those spectacular treats with my family holds a precious place in my mind. I always remember the difficulty that was choosing between the Chocolate and Salted Caramel Delice (Chocolate sponge layered with a biscuit crunch and salted caramel, finished with Harrods Grand Cru Milk Chocolate Chantilly) and the Lemon Lime Mint Meringue Tart (Lemon curd tart, topped with tart lime and mint gel and toasted Italian meringue) and always ending up choosing The Chocolate and Salted Caramel Delice. Furthermore, the delicate sound of piano tunes being played is a true memory. Goosebumps were always present in my body when the pianist played “River flows in you”. Being introduced by my parents “The Harrods Tea Rooms” experience has been a true delight, trying different foods, listening to classical music, and experiencing tea for the very first time. Here is some of their info. Enjoy!
